THE KOP

Liverpool. The football. The city.
Independent & unofficial.

Opinion · The Kop editorial · 22 October 2026

Football belongs to the people.

A fanzine starts with a point of view. Here is ours.

A football club is made of people who keep turning up. The lift to the ground. The scarf handed down. The argument that runs through the week and starts again on Saturday. Those things deserve space of their own.

The Kop begins there. We want to pay attention to what supporters notice: how a game changes, what happens around the ground, and what gets lost when every conversation becomes a transfer rumour.

Have an argument worth reading.

Strong opinions are welcome. So are changed minds. Describe the moment that made you think something. Give another reader enough to disagree with. A headline is the start of an argument, not its evidence.

The city comes with it.

Liverpool does not stop at Anfield. The waterfront, the streets around the Town Hall and the places people pass every day belong in this fanzine too. Photographs and paintings can hold those connections without needing a club badge on everything.

A small beginning.

This first edition opens the conversation. Original photographs will follow. Until then, there is room to read, remember and help decide what should come next.
