Your words. Your account.

You can read the site without an account. This scaffold has no advertising trackers or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may retain normal web-server access logs.

Forum accounts

The forum stores your chosen username, a password hash and account recovery information. It does not ask for an email address. Save your recovery code privately: there is no email reset link.

A necessary session cookie keeps you signed in and protects account actions. Local browser storage may keep an unfinished draft. Posts, your username and any attachments you submit are public. Reports are visible to moderators.

Photographs and videos

Upload only photographs you own or have permission to share. The forum publishes a resized copy with embedded metadata removed. Posting a photograph does not grant permission to sell it. YouTube and TikTok links are handled by their providers; loading embedded media on discussion pages may contact those services.

Outside sites

Following a source or studio link takes you to that site, with its own privacy practices. Fonts on The Kop are served locally.

Account questions

Contact the publisher through Mark C Grant’s studio. Do not put passwords, recovery codes or private account details in a public discussion.
